Our CEO Turns One!

Running a multinational, world-renowned design firm is tough work. Just ask our CEO and Forbes “30 Under 30” honoree, Boba.

Boba just celebrated his first birthday, and his resume rivals CEOs who have been in the game for decades.

From “shake” to “sit” to “twirl,” here’s Boba’s greatest accomplishments over the past year.

An Arsenal of Tricks

Boba isn’t just a multitalented businessman in the conference room – he’s also a multitalented entertainer with dozens of tricks up his sleeve.

A nonexhaustive list of his current arsenal includes:

  • The classics (sit, down, shake, stay, heel, play dead, kiss)
  • Acrobatics (twirl, run a circle, stand up, roll over)
  • Crowd favorites (criss-cross between our legs, dance, flip over)

Mr. Bobes is unusually food-motivated when compared to most CEOs of his caliber, so tricks were a natural step for him. In fact, he learned “sit” on his first day on the job.

Only a few months into the job, Boba was the proud recipient of the prestigious “best boy of the month” award from his doggy daycare. This honor is awarded exclusively to dogs who demonstrate impeccable character and a knack for tricks.

One trick he has yet to master, however, is “no.” It’s on his list of action items for Q2.

Becoming A Worldly Corgi

One of Boba’s biggest passions, like many of us, is travel. From the dog park to doggy daycare to the Boise Greenbelt, he’s seen it all.

At only a few months into his tenure here, Boba took a big step, visiting our sister location in Twin Falls, Idaho. There, his business associates and fellow small dogs Cordy and Finnegan were waiting to meet their new boss.

Finnegan was temporarily blind due to his diabetes treatments, and Boba’s razor-sharp people-reading skills kicked into high gear.

While playing chase outside, Boba discovered that if he sat perfectly still and didn’t make a noise, Finnegan would run right past him and get lost. One of many examples of our CEO’s cutthroat business practices that led him to the top.

I think we can all learn something from Boba’s philosophy here – we should all be sitting and doing nothing more often.

Looking Ahead to Two Years

Boba’s birthday bash was a blowout with all his closest confidantes, but it was also a chance for him to reflect on his first year of service.

Where would he take Pink Robot Studios next?

Higher Profit Focus. After weeks of deep diving into our financials, Boba has determined that the amount of treats that end up in his bowl is not nearly high enough. Starting in June, we’ll be operating with a goal of doubling our treat income.

Less Work Hours. In addition to a lack of treats, Boba feels Pink Robot Studios is taking up too much of his employees’ time. He joins other forward-thinkers in the mindset of a four-day work week in order to allow for more playtime.

Higher Toy Budget. Currently, Pink Robot Studios’ toy budget pays for about two new toys a month, but this does not account for the “shred factor” – the rate at which Boba shreds the toys to bits. Unfortunately, these two metrics are simply not in alignment, so drastic measures need to be taken to ensure consistent toy purchasing.

Between these three changes, Boba believes he will be able to take Pink Robot Studios to the next level.

Clients, be on the lookout for changes ahead!
